About the

Karimah Ashadu (b. London 1985) is a British/Nigerian Artist. Her practice predominantly explores the moving image, as well as sculpture and performance.

Ashadu investigates sentiments of narration. Typically, she considers experimental modes of moving image capture aided by hand-crafted mechanisms. These devices probe space, and explore the role of perspective in storytelling. The work is also concerned with perceptions of self and place.

Ashadu is one of the 2014 – 2016 participants of De Ateliers, Amsterdam, and has exhibited internationally including De Ateliers, Amsterdam, Bozar, Brussels and Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, Geneva.

She is the recipient of several awards and grants including ARTE Creative and Arts Council England Read More
