Karimah Ashadu’s (b. 1985, London, UK) work will feature in the group exhibition “The Gatherers” at MoMA PS1, New York. The show is curated by Ruba Katrib, Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs, with Sheldon Gooch, Curatorial Assistant. It will include Ashadu’s film “Brown Goods” (2020).

Ashadu’s practice employs an intimate and singular lens to examine notions of labour, formations and perceptions of the self, masculinity, and patriarchal systems within the economic, social, and cultural context of West Africa.

“Machine Boys” has been selected in the program of the 13th Athens Avant-Garde Film Festival. It will be screened on Sunday December 8th.

“Machine Boys” will be screened at Pathé Les Fauvettes Movie Theater on Saturday November 23rd at 2PM, as part of the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin program.

“Machine Boys” will be screened from November 16th to November 23rd in different venues in Amsterdam, as part of the International Documentary Film Festival‘s program.

“Machine Boys” will be screened at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur on November 6th at 3:30 PM, at Maxx 5 and on November 9th at 7 PM, at Maxx 6.

“Machine Boys” will be presented in Austria for the first time, as part of the Viennale Festival 2024.

The film will be screened at the Filmmuseum, Vienna on Tuesday October 22nd, 4PM and Metro, Eric Pleskow Saal on Wednesday October 23rd, at 6PM.
