The 64th Flaherty Seminar THE NECESSARY IMAGE, is programmed by Kevin Jerome Everson and Greg de Cuir, Jr.

I am so excited to be a featured guest at this year’s Seminar, participating in a series of screenings, presentations and discussions between 16-22 June.

The Flaherty seminar is held at Colgate University, Hamilton, NY.

MoMA screening

In conjunction with the 2018 Robert Flaherty Film Seminar and MoMA’s Modern Mondays, I will screen a selection of early moving-image work exploring intricate relationships between identity, place, and the construction of selfhood on Monday, June 25. Showing for the first time is “Sodoko (Power Man)”, 2018 – my most recent work.

The screening is followed by a conversation with Kevin Jerome Everson & Greg de Cuir Jr. and Sophie Cavoulacos, Assistant Curator, Department of Film.

Recipient of the Edith Breckwoldt Fellowship

I’m delighted to have been selected as the recipient of the Edith Breckwoldt Fellowship, in association with the Ministry of Culture Hamburg and Künstlerhaus FRISE.

This prize sponsors a working period at the Künstlerhaus FRISE, Hamburg from 2018 to 2020.

I look forward to making new work within an exciting community of artists and art thinkers alike!

Faena Art Centre, Miami and Beunos Aires

Sunday, April 9th, 2017

Initially shown in Geneva at the Biennale of Moving Images at Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève Red Gold travels to Miami to be installed at Faena Art Centre (13 -30 April), as an extension of the Biennale, with a small selection of work by 7 artists.

Next it travels to Faena Art Centre, Buenos Aires (opens 22 May).
